Santa Cruz is the second largest and most centrally located of all the Galapagos islands. The main city is called Puerto Ayora and is the largest inhabited city among the islands with approximately 12,000 inhabitants. Santa Cruz is a volcano island, but the last time it was active was over a million years ago. Today, the island is an exciting natural kingdom with lava tunnels, rock canyons, turtles, iguanas, tropical birds and much more.
