Seychelles - Aldabra Atoll

Aldabra is the second-largest coral atoll globally, situated among the Outer Islands in Seychelles, approximately 1,120 kilometers from the capital, Victoria. An atoll, often referred to as a coral atoll, is a circular coral reef that encircles a lagoon either entirely or partially. Aldabra is home to 12 residents, a higher population compared to most atolls in the region. The atoll is encompassed by four sizable coral islands that form a shallow lagoon.

Worth seeing
Aldabra has remained shielded from human impact, harboring around 150,000 giant tortoises, constituting the world's largest population of these reptiles. Navigating the area practically guarantees encounters with these massive turtles.

Explore the untamed and verdant landscapes, akin to stepping into an entirely different realm. However, exercise caution to avoid disrupting the island's nature and ecosystem.
