MyCruise handles personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Data controller and data processor
As MyCruise both collects and processes personal data and does not have an overarching group, we are both a data controller and a data processor. This means that all data is collected and processed by MyCruise, and only the necessary information is passed on to our business partners, e.g. shipping companies, when a booking is to be made.

The collection of personal data
What is personal data?
It is any information that can be directly or indirectly related to a person. Examples include name, social security number, address, email address and phone number. In addition, it also applies to booking numbers, encrypted data and different types of electronic identities such as IP numbers.
How we collect personal data?
MyCruise collects personal data in various ways, including via the website, telephone contact, etc. It is important to note that all information comes directly from the customer themselves.
Prior to booking, at the time of booking, during the journey and after the journey
When the customer books a trip on our website, by phone or in person, we only collect the necessary information needed to book a trip. This is information such as name, date of birth and gender for all travellers. It is important to note that when a main traveller provides information about their fellow travellers, the fellow travellers should be aware of our privacy policy which also applies to them and gives permission to collect their information. When paying for a trip, we also collect payment information from the main traveller. When the trip is to be completed, we collect information about the customer's trip, for example, information regarding booking numbers, destination, trip length, or other services used during the trip. This information is collected in order to provide a better service in the future by answering necessary questions and creating offers that are best suited to the customer. Through telephone contact, we record customer conversations for educational purposes, this way we can prepare our service to better cater to the next customer. When customers opt-in to receive newsletters, we collect their name and email address in order to send them inspiration and offers via email. After each trip, the customer has the opportunity to fill out a short questionnaire to give us feedback and a grade for the trip. These questionnaires help us improve the trip itself, the services the customer received and the service our travel consultants provide. When using our digital services, such as the website, we collect information about the customer's use of the service. That is, we look at which pages the customer has visited, what searches have been made, how the customer navigates the website and which products the customer is interested in. This helps us to find nodes on the website and possibly remove unnecessary material.
Storage and handling of personal data
Administration of the journey
In order to provide the travel services that the customer books with MyCruise, information is used to issue tickets and travel documents, make hotel and flight bookings, as well as other services such as car hire, excursion packages, etc. In addition to the information mentioned above, we collect information for accounting, settlement, auditing or other verification of payment cards, immigration and customs control.
Marketing and personalisation
Customer information is also used for marketing purposes in connection with specific trips within MyCruise and our partners/ship owners who contact the customer via email, phone or text message. If the customer chooses to receive newsletters with inspiration and/or offers from MyCruise, we use this data to customise the content to the specific customer.

MyCruise will only disclose the information to the extent necessary as part of the operation of our business.
MyCruise will typically disclose personal data to the following recipients in connection with the booking of a trip and related products:
Systems and partners
In order to complete the perfect journey and experience for the customer, MyCruise collaborates with various partners who perform various functions. This includes, for example, co-operation with shipping companies. In this case, the personal data we receive from the customer is forwarded to the selected shipping company, which then generates a boarding pass that the customer uses to board the ship. The same applies to our cooperation with other partners such as airlines, hotels, car hire companies, companies offering excursions, etc. The personal data used in these cases includes information such as name, surname, date of birth and nationality. At the same time, MyCruise has a mid-office system that stores this personal data in the first instance. Next, necessary information is passed on to the partners. Similarly, we use an external partner who stores information when customers call in with enquiries. We store the phone number, name and surname, and any email address if the customer provides it. In order to guarantee each trip, MyCruise, in co-operation with an insurance company, offers the possibility to insure the customer against unforeseen events. When it comes to the payment of the trip itself, MyCruise uses an external partner who performs the necessary functions and protects personal data accordingly.
Delivery to third countries
As we organise trips all over the world, some of our business partners are outside the EU. This means that personal data may be sent to these countries for the same purposes as described above. Regardless of the country to which information is sent, MyCruise is responsible for maintaining a high level of protection.
Customer rights
Personal data processing is necessary for MyCruise to fulfil an agreement with a customer. In order for us to fulfil a legal obligation or in relation to our legitimate interest, consent is not required. However, if we need to collect personal data for another purpose, we need to obtain the customer's consent. The customer gives consent when they use our services via the website, telephone contact with a travel consultant or our business partners.
Withdrawal of consent
The customer has the right to withdraw consent at any time. This can be done by contacting MyCruise via the above-mentioned contact details. If the customer withdraws the consent, the processing of personal data covered by the consent will automatically cease. It may happen that the same personal data is processed both on the basis of consent and because the information is necessary or due to other rules. This means that even if you withdraw your consent and the processing based on the consent ceases, the personal data may still be stored with us for other purposes.
Right to obtain information and control over customer data
The customer has the right to request that data be deleted, supplemented or corrected. The customer has the right to request that the processing of personal data is limited to specific purposes and not used for e.g. direct advertising or profiling.

What happens if the customer does not want MyCruise to handle their data?
Some personal data we need to handle in order to provide the services and products that the customer has requested from us. If the customer places an order on the website, the required information is labelled so you can clearly see which information is required. If the customer does not provide this information or requests that it be deleted, MyCruise will not be able to provide the service or product. If the customer requests that we do not handle their personal data for marketing or profiling purposes, they will not be able to receive customised offers and communication from us, and this may mean that certain digital services cannot be used or do not function optimally.
If the customer wants to complain
Anyone who believes that MyCruise does not comply with these privacy policy rules can conult the Data Protection Act 2018.
