Norwegian Breakaway, the first ship in Norwegian Cruise Line’s Breakaway class, was launched in 2013 and underwent a major refurbishment in early 2025. The ship now features a range of upgraded facilities and new experiences that combine the best of modern cruising with classic charm.
Life on Board
Following the 2025 refurbishment, Norwegian Breakaway has introduced several exciting additions. One of the most notable is the Silver Screen Bistro – a new cinema and dining experience replacing the Spiegel Tent. Guests can enjoy movies in plush recliner seats while being served delicious dishes inspired by Food Republic.
Outdoor areas have also been enhanced with Horizon Park – a recreational space offering 360-degree ocean views, lawn games like cornhole and giant Jenga, and areas for sunbathing. For families, The Stadium has been added – a lively activity zone with games and entertainment for all ages.
Adult guests can enjoy the expanded Vibe Beach Club, now featuring more loungers and private cabanas for ultimate relaxation. The Haven Sundeck has also been improved with more seating and luxurious amenities for guests staying in The Haven.
Culinary Experiences
Dining onboard has been elevated to new heights. Cagney’s Steakhouse has been expanded, taking over the space previously occupied by Moderno Churrascaria, offering more room to enjoy juicy steaks and gourmet meals. Ocean Blue has been replaced by Palomar – a new Mediterranean-inspired seafood restaurant set in elegant surroundings.
The Haven
For those seeking a more exclusive experience, Norwegian Breakaway offers The Haven – a private enclave with luxurious suites, a dedicated restaurant, bar, lounge, and sun deck with pool. Haven guests enjoy personal butler service, concierge, and priority access to the ship’s amenities. In 2025, The Haven was further enhanced with extended sundecks and additional cabanas, providing even more comfort and privacy.
Solo Cabins
Norwegian Breakaway is also ideal for solo travelers, featuring specially designed solo cabins. These include access to the Studio Lounge – a shared space where solo guests can meet others and enjoy refreshments throughout the day.
