Gangjeong, situated on the island of Jeju-do in the Korea Strait, is a small village in South Korea with approximately 560,000 inhabitants on the island. Known as the "Hawaii of South Korea," Jeju boasts stunning scenery and beautiful beaches, earning it recognition as one of the "New Seven Wonders of Nature" by the New7Wonders Foundation in 2011.

Worth seeing
Halla-san: Dominating the island, Halla-san is an inactive volcano and South Korea's highest mountain at 1,950 meters. Five hiking trails of varying difficulty lead to the summit, providing breathtaking views of the scenic surroundings and the beautiful lake in the crater.

Natural Beauty: Jeju is abundant in natural wonders, from rustic rock outcrops to small volcanoes and craters, along with wonderful sand and lava beaches.

Haenyo Women: Known for their diving skills, the Haenyo women on the eastern side of the island dive up to 20 meters without oxygen to collect shellfish, seaweed, and treasures from the sea. This traditional job, dating back several hundred years, is now a dying profession as younger generations prioritize higher education. Visit the village of Hado-ri to witness the women in action and explore a small museum.

Currency
South Korean won (KRW). It's advisable to exchange currency before arriving in South Korea, as some ATMs may not accept international cards. Credit cards are widely accepted in major cities.
