Santa Fe Island, also known as Barrington Island, is the oldest of the Galapagos Islands, estimated to be up to four million years old. Hiking Trails: There are two hiking trails on the island, one short and one long. The longer trail, though somewhat steep at times, takes you to the top of a cliff where you can enjoy panoramic views of the island. The shorter path runs along the beach, where you can encounter sea lions enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

Opuntia echios Cacti: Santa Fe Island is home to the unique Opuntia echios cacti, which can grow to an impressive size.

Endemic Species: The island is home to several animal species found nowhere else, including the Barrington land iguana, the Santa Fe marine iguana, and the Santa Fe rice rat. It also boasts a diverse birdlife and lively sea lions.

Barrington Bay: After a hike, many visitors head to Barrington Bay, a picturesque bay perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and diving. There are three excellent diving sites off the coast of Santa Fe: El Fondeador, La Encanada, and Costa Este. Here, you can encounter friendly sea turtles, playful sea lions, and, if you're fortunate, even the rare Galapagos shark.
