Ecuador - Galapagos - Isla Genovesa - El Barranco

El Barranco, also known as Prince Philip's Steps, offers an approximately two-kilometer-long walking route that provides a remarkable experience. The journey begins from the water, and you ascend along the famous staircase on the cliff. As you progress along the trail, the terrain becomes flatter and more manageable to walk. During this beautiful excursion, you pass directly through the world's largest colony of red-footed boobies, as well as a substantial colony of Nazca boobies. This area is often a prime spot for observing Galapagos thrushes and finches, so be sure to keep a keen eye out as you explore. Further along the hike, you'll encounter petrified lava flows, adding even more wildlife and unique vistas to your experience.

Climate
The Galápagos Islands, situated on the equator, can be visited at any time of the year. There are two distinct seasons. The warmer season stretches from December to May, featuring abundant sunshine and clear skies. The slightly cooler season occurs from June to November due to southerly winds that bring the cold Humboldt Current northward, resulting in cooler sea temperatures.
